RANT - BH weather

Doh! Trying to pot-on plants grown from seed...one minute it's sunny, then it's hailing and bitter wind and the pots blow over. Then there's a downpour and everything gets sopping wet. What a useless BH

Know how you feel, I was sieving out soil in the garden to mix with compost for the buckets my tomatoes will go in, I now have a carefully sieved wheelbarrow full of mud, so will need to re-do. GRRR!!!!

I think by the time we get anything properly planted out, it will be time to bring it all in ! This weekend we've been at 7C all day !!

I've given up for the moment and everything still in pots has been brought back inside onto windowsills.
The rest have been fleeced up and just left. I'm not gardening in hail.

Have to agree with this, wouldnt it be great to know that we could count on at least 8 weeks of very sunny and warm weather, the rest of the year can do what it likes just give us 8 weeks please.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Brrr.... I had so much planned for today... mowing the lawn, planting out my tatties, weeding... and it is just too cold and windy :(
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

I'd hoped that I'd used the last of the heaters last week but its back to pulling 47kg gas cylinders uphill again.

    Stop moaning :D
I saw the weather forecast, so I put on a sweater .
And planned an afternoon in the green house .
I was dry and out of the wind

This weather will make us appreciate the better weather ... if it ever arrives.

Just watched BBC Scotland news. Its currently snowing in the Cairngorms and the ski resorts have enough snow to last until June ! They said this winter they'd had over 7 metres of snow... maybe we should stop gardening and open penguin farms instead?

I too saw the weather forecast and put on appropriate clothing, but it wasn't possible to change my plans. I've been working for months on producing plants for a charity plant sale at an open garden on Sunday.

It was bitterly cold and rained most of the time so NOBODY came! The only sales were to other volunteers who bought something out of sympathy.

I certainly will appreciate the better weather when it comes, but I will still remember all the wasted effort and it's a pity we didn't manage to raise any money for a good cause.
