Hi there
I thought your motorbikes were your one luxury, or is that sky?
only messing with you, but if you need to find money for a deficit, this is one of the easier places to locate part of it.
Secondly, I think your home insurance is quite high as well. Ive got a 2 bed groundfloor flat in inner east london ( so definatley not the cheapest area) and buldings & contents is 23 ish per month. Thats with 80k contents and 100k rebuild, and it includes legal cover and having lodgers etc, all the stuff that usually costs a bit extra. I have checked an rechecked this and I cannot find anyone cheaper or more comprehensive and thats with the CIS. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hi Lynz......ummmm...can I have 2 luxuries??
Yep, right about Insurance - gonna be renewed through tesco on their half price offers (+clubcard points :T )
Feel like ive achieved something so far - if only the 3 0% credit cards!

Keep up the good work weebag
Sounds like you are making a great start to getting your finances under control.
Get your fiance on board with this project, draw up joint plans, targets, financial aims etc etc tackle this as one team, supporting each other, one strategy.
Don't let your guard down, keep your discipline and keep posting.
Best,
P.S Have you sold that 2nd motorbike yet ?

Weebag,
This probably won't help as I'm just as addicted to bikes, my advice would be to buy a third one.
Seriousl though, I am in the middle of a house move and to save money this year I decided to compromise and not to MOT my bike for one year. This way I've saved quite a bit as it needs tyres and currenly it's SORN. Once we've moved I'll get it ready for next spring and be raring to go.
Maybe if they mean that much and you can't sell, how about keeping at least one off the road next year?0 -
freda wrote:Oh, and check how much your company car is costing you in tax. Most are extortionately expensive and, if your company offers a car allowance as an alternative, you may well be better off going for that and running your own car.
The money that you get from a company to run your own car for business is still taxable, although it is true that you pay tax on a company car I am still waiting for someone to show me how to run a new £20k car for 30.000 miles per year for less than £150 per month, which is what I pay in extra tax. A colleague has a similar car to me which costs over £200 more per month to run that the company give as an allowance, that's without services, tyres etc.;)0
