New money saver!

Hello all - thought it post here and thank all contributors for making this such a wonderful site!

My debt are displayed in my sig - for all to see - yes, ive admitted I have a problem!

Already taken much of the advice from here (BT Credit Cards where possible, shop at Lidl and Aldi, throw all spare money at debts etc etc)

Also trying to reclaim £2000 in unfair charges from Fiance bank account....also trying to cancel PPI on Abbey Loan (just sent first letter about that one!)

My biggest problems are:

I have just taken a new job with going from £36000 a year to £26000 a year:eek:

I have two motorbikes which I LOVE and dont want to sell - but could make £3500 - £4000 if I did.......BUT, they keep me sane! Should I sell???

Im fortunate in that i have a company car and company phone so living costs are less that a lot of people - but i still struggle.

Anyway, thats me!

Mark

YES!! They keep you sane  how? , but you have two monster loans there, that will drive you mad over time! You have a car, so you cant possibly ride all three vehicles! And they must cost you a bomb in insurance, tax and the like, Id just get rid, that will take a massive amount of time off your debtfree date

    Welcome again!!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I suppose the bikes are a part of me - they are really my only interest (apart from 3 kids and a dog!) - cant imagine being without a bike - when im out on them, i forget everything else! Maybe I could sell one (£3000 ish)....?? :o

Id sell at least one ;)

Have you worked out using the snowball calculator how much quicker you would be debt free if you had the extra 3k?

Hi Mark and welcome to the forum!

For what it's worth, seems you asked......I would definitely sell one of them at least. I would be so happy to see some of my debts reduced or disappear altogether.

Would you even be asking about the bikes if you didn't know the answer in your heart??

Ha ha, yes, I know - in my heart I know at least one of the bikes has to go......at least until I (we) get on our feet again!

Fiance is (or has been) a nitemare with money too - and so I am bailing her out as well as myself, although we have agreed jointly that things need to change. Also need to get the kids to accept that life will be slightly differnt from now on - not so many treats!!

Anyway, cut back on SKY package today, cancelled magazine (motorbike) subscription, now looking for things to sell on ebay / amazon (got LOADS of books!)

God i wish I found thos website years ago!

Oh - just paid the Lloyds TSB card off - balance now nil!
