flat hunting in london making a decision (renting)

i've been flathunting in london for a place to rent. The problem is diffeent people want answers at different itmes. I went to see one place and the lady wants an answer immediately but i've gone to see another two places i really liked and the current flatmates have said they'd get back to me once they've seen all the people interested in renting that room...
so if i hold out people might decide to go with someone else and i lose this place but then i might end up making the wrong choice!!
Any ideas??

Soph,
Am I right in thinking you are going into houseshare?
I know exactly what you mean, it really is a bit of pot luck, I just took whatever I could when I went into random houseshares, jsut so I didnt lose money at the time, they always worked out OK. But then Ive only done it twice, most of the time I lived with peple I already knew type thing.
Could you phone the ones you really liked and ask them when they will have a decision by? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Probably doesn't mean that. Probably means she will take the first offer and so won't hold the place for you.
It's a chance you have to take.0 -
thanks guys - shes shown a few people around - offered it to me so if i refuse (by 7pm tonight) then it gets offered to one of the others...
and the problem with the other places i go to see is that the people may decide they prefer someone else to live with them so then i end up with nothing...
the place i really liked - i was the first person to see it so they want to spend another week letting other people look around before deciding...0
