Simply Electronics

Last Monday morning (before 9am) I ordered a Panasonic DMC-TZ10 camera from this company (simplyelectronics.net). My credit card was debited immediately. Their website stated "In Stock Usually Ships in 1-2 Business Days" (and still does).

A week later when I asked when it would be shipped I got this reply:

"In regards to your enquiry, we can assure you that we are trying our best to deliver your product as soon as possible. We are currently experiencing higher than expected demand for our services, and are working diligently to clear out our backlogs to minimise any further delays. As we do not have a specific date on when we can make the dispatch, we are certainly doing our best to make the deliveries of orders as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, we will closely monitor the delivery process and will send you a notification email as soon as your parcel has been dispatched. The parcel can then be expected to arrive the following work day."

So basically this bunch will take your money even if they have no idea when they will be able to ship your item.

I've just cancelled my order, and will be interested to see how much of I fight I will have getting my money back (and how long it will take).

I couldn't see any reference to that on their site. They publish UK phone numbers (0844), which are available 8-4 UK time.
