Laminate flooring question
vein
Hi,
I was searching threads for info last night on laminate flooring and I've picked up from the search that I need to be looking at a thickness of at least 8mm. I'm looking to put laminate throughout my house in the 2 bedrooms, hall and living room. Overall that is roughly 57m2 and I'm looking to have the same style throughout the house, probably a light maple effect. My budget can stretch to about £10m2. I've got a few questions though that I hope some folks may be able to help on.
- Has anyone got any opinion on the laminate that IKEA sell? They have the style I'm looking for at 6.99m2 but its 7mm thick.
- Some of the laminate I have looked at is 7mm, is that drop of 1mm really a bad thing for lack of quality, wear and tear, etc?
- Does anyone have any reccomendations for suppliers out with the obvious B&Q, Wickes, Homebase, etc?
Thanks in advance.

you will never know the difference in 1mm thickness. esp in a bedroom setting.
low traffic area.
you may want to consider even thicker laminate in an area such as the lounge.Get some gorm.0 -

I've got laminate upstairs, you may want to consider using thicker underlay otherwise it may get pretty noisy."...IT'S FRUITY!"0
