Do I need to remove wrap?

Hi!

I bought some plug busy lizzies from T&M and they have been delivered with a paper type collar around the roots and im not sure if it needs removing before planting. Sounds a bit of a silly question really if i leave it on surely it will hinder the growth of the plant? I have tried to peel off the wrapper on one of them but the roots are stuck to it and I dont want kill off the plant! Doesnt say on the delivery instructions if it needs removing or not!

Any help much appreciated (bit of a new gardener :o!!) Thanks! x

I noticed this when I bought plug plants too, I took the papery stuff off carefully but no idea if you are meant to leave it or not

Hi it normally naturally rots away when the plants are planted on, I would just try to tear it a little to give it a helping hand. Asking a question is never daft I do it all the time:D its how we learn. Good luck with your plants.

I bought some plants recently and I did email the seller about this but did feel a bit silly to ask. This is what he said "Just plant the plugs as they are. The membrane around the roots is biodegradable so it will break down as the plug''s roots grow out." Hope this helps.
