Hallo again everyone I recently had the pleasure of driving an n reg Renault clio that u was given as a complimentary car whilst mine was being repaired at first I ridiculed the scruffy looking thing and I remember saying to the mechanic I don't think it will take me to coventry and back but to be honest the garage was under no obligation to offer me a courtesy car cause it was a private garage but he just understood my situation and gave me that one. I may say I was shocked with the fuel economy of that car I put in 20 pounds worrying it would pack in with my fuel money but it got me to coventry and back on 20 and on my way back was doing average 80miles cause the road conditions were good and clear but it managed to get me back to London with a quarter remaining I just couldn't finish it and had done 118.00.00 miles on the clock . The only downside was it was not power stearing but for me what matters is fuel economy and it passed the test. So I took it back to the garage and decided to get one for my self just to keep at home in times when I have a break down or just need a car to abuse on the motorway but the garage role me they had sold the car and had no clue what model or engine size it was or anything apart from it being n reg and a non power stearing clio 4 doors. So does anyone have any idea of which model of clio has this wonderful economy, please and are they reliable though am not expecting much considering the year.

Just took a P reg one in PX this weekend. 1.2 with a sunroof, no PAS tho, but just pump the front tyres upto 50psi lol.

Old cars are so much better than these new pieces of crap! When old cars go wrong all you need is a hammer and a spanner. New cards require a degree!

Probably a 1.4, as the 1.2 back then was quite asthmatic. We had an N reg for 4 years or so, faultless apart from a niggling sump leak and still around in the villiage today.

However the Mk11 in diesel form would put it in the petrol guzzler class ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

We had a N reg 1.2 in green (the ones still running are all in green I think) from new till last year covered 150k, good car but in the end it failed the MOT on too many things and we did not need 2 cars anyway.

The 1.2 was fine power wise with only the driver put 3 mates in it and you had to change the amount of time you gave yourself when pulling out!
