Hot tap hell

My Bath hot tap is playing up. It still works but you have to turn it round a few times and then its OK. Saying that its a tiny bit wobbly and you have to press down firmly to turn it off so it seems to have issues.
Now I want to get ahead of the game before it starts causing me problems. I have found a similar pair of taps at screwfix direct for a reasonable price but how difficult are taps to fit? Do they all connect to a standard fitting?
Cheers

Is it the tap itself that's wobbly, or just the head bit? You can get tap reviver/rejuvenator kits that screw onto the tap base, without needing any plumbing skills (turn the water off though).A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

Taps can be some of the hardest things to change especially bath taps. This is mainly due to access under the bath itself. You can always go into any plumbers merchant and purchase a tap reviver kit, costs around £9 so cheaper than new taps as well. Easy to do, just shut the water off open the taps to drain the water. Dismantle the tap via the head fit the new insert and reassemble. You get 2 new inserts per pack so you could repair a pair of taps....0

Its the head bit, and a tiny bit of water leaks out from between the head and the tap itself so it needs seeing to sooner rather than later
Thaks to you and London Plumber for your help, I will have a look at a tap rejuvenator kit and see whether or not I would feel confident doing it :rotfl:The World come on.....0 -
