tax credits and new bank account

Hi I have only recently (last week) managed to get a bank account after years without wanting one since being made bankrupt in dec 2004. I have only just renewed my tax credits and now i've had to ring them up and give them my new account details , My payment for this monday was in my post office account on friday due to the bank holiday. What will happen now this is first time i've ever had to change where payments were going to, will they make an extra payment due to the change and recalculate my payments for rest of the award. Will my payment date change (I presume not) and finally how long will it take roughly before the payments start being made into my bank account rather than my post office account .? Many thanks to all for taking the time to read and reply at this late hour in the night  just realised the time.
Paul Walker , in my dreams;)

They will amend it immediately and I would guess your next payment will go in the bank account, I had to switch mine and it was sorted within a day or two as its all electronically0

when i made a single claim and gave them my single bank account details after my hubby left the payments went straight into that account soon as they were due and if i remember rightly there was a slightly higher payment one week and then they settled to the same ammount weekly. x0
