I just hope my week is better than this one
Found out earlier that my Grans BIL in Canada was found dead the other day, he was a great old guy, soldier till the end.
Found in his chair reading the paper, I think it suits him, IYKWIM
hugs for your Gran and the family though
Me
I shall be found either (a) ironing or (b) matching pegs....
Many thanks to Flylady Central Command
and if anyone can suggest paint colours for a very bright south east (?) facing - judging by where the sun is- bedroom I would be very interested (we already have Natural Hessian and Natural Wicker elsewhere (and you can probably work out my preferred brand from that and that is in regard to how it goes on...))
This will be a summer hols project I think...unless I go mad at half term:rotfl:
You are (virtually) painting over Violet White which is clearly MUCH more Violet than white looking at my bedroom walls...bedding/lightshade/curtains all match Violet white so moneysaving IF I don't need new..
AnWs - a certain Mr Rossi with whom you might be aquainted was discussing, on Johnny Walker's show, his new album, with SQ tacks and solo tracks played if I recall
(they all sound the same to me)

That's almost how my great uncle went.
Sunday lunchtime - he hadn't turned up for his usual pint(s) at the Royal Legion. They sent a couple of old 'uns out to look for him and he was found peacefully dead in his bed. Suit ironed and medals laid out on the chair, bus money on the dresser.
That's the way to go0 -
S'like that tale
Old gal sends hubby down the allotment/garden to pick a cabbage for Sunday dinner.
He drops down dead.
Concerned NDN says - 'What did you do?'
Old gal says 'Well, we had to open a tin of peas...'Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I suggest either Natural Calico or a cream - I will see whether I can find the details of the cream I used for my south facing bedroom (I painted the ceiling, woodwork and floor the same colour, using matt paint through out... although when I say 'I' ... it was actually my dad who did the hard work) . Magnolia also looks good in south facing rooms - it brings out the pink it in without it being overwhelming.
I think I might have done the final draft of my presentation... I've mailed it to a colleague to beg for feedback as I'm getting stressed about it. And of course, what I'm going to wear, how I'm going to get there, how I'm going to get back... etc. etc... oh... and the fact I haven't practised on anyone or given a presentation in months...
Oh well... the house is reasonably tidy, although there appears to be a thick layer of dust over most of it (I blame the woodstove/garden work/rain/fairies), and I'm nearly up to date on work...

I'm in again please! Been keeping up with Fred and doing little flying as a result
, however been hampered by being away for work, visitors and kitchen remodelling courtesy of a good friend this weekend... tired now, lugging 3m worktops around is harder then it looks:eek:
Still its looking good and much much fresher than when I moved in - new wallcupboards (there were none) matching doors for the base units and new worktops. So, I can put things aaway now and it looks a whole lot tidier!:T
Promise to try harder this week
Thanks to our organisers!

have to say I am tending toward those colours - or a sort of 'dark' neutral IYSWIM - I am all Magnolia'dout as Valli Towers The First was woodchip and magnolia
everywhere....
:rotfl:
(when it was bought. I tend not to marry DIYers. This is my great fault. The NEXT Mr Valli will have the skills, and contacts, of Tommy Walsh or he'll hit the high road :rotfl:)
At the moment I have
Dusted Damson
Dusted fondant
Gentle lavender
malt chocolate
and soft stone in my (on line) scrapbook
(and Violet white as a reminder)
I might well have picked those because they SOUND yummy....
I have now added Natural Calico and TBH any of them would look good I think...
If I go for damson I might get away with one coat, although I have prep to do on the wall that, once the paper was lifted, was found to be BRIGHT yellow. I have a 'leach through' situation....rubbing down needed. methinks! Mind you it has taken YEARS to leach through! And it's only patchy.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
