Happy belated birthday to Triker and anyone else I missed - glad you had a good time.

Hugs for all who need or want them.

Get well where appropriate, especially to LadyL, and Diva. Hope your little one is on the mend GnB?

My throat has been hurting since Friday (thought it was just shouting at the kids), and my tonsils are up lots today, so think I may have tonsillitis. Will have to book a doctors appointment tomorrow.

Spent all of yesterday afternoon with my Nan - my Mum says that social services have assessed her, and she's being referred to a local mental hospital for assessment for dementia or alzheimers. :( She's 93 this year, so getting quite old, and hasn't really been right since my grandfather died 8 years ago.

Apparently they are going to try out sending a carer around to her for a few weeks some time soon, as my Mum and Dad are both on blood pressure medication because of the stress of looking after her.

Flying wise, I helped my Mum to hang new (well they've been stuck in their packet in my cupboard for a couple of years) curtains in our bedroom, I've put away lots of washing, cleaned the bathroom, and done the food shopping and meal planning for the next couple of weeks. Must clear out my purse this avo as there are far too many receipts in there.

Well I think I'm going to head back to bed in a minute, as I'm feeling really tired (had nightmares last night about the head at my last school again, so I was probably feverish). Have taken vitamin C and zinc tablets to help my immune system a bit.

Will be back online later today.

Afternoon all. Hope everyone's OK, I didn't even turn the computer on yesterday and this morning there were no emails - not like the "good old days" when I got hundreds of spam all the time!

So far today I've done some washing (hung outside), vacuumed through downstairs, cut the back grass and edged it and swept up and got a roast dinner on. I might get the front grass done this afternoon.

Here’s an aahhhhh story for you all. It is 'flying' - honest!

OH needed some food for his ferrets (we’ve eaten most of the rabbits he’s caught recently ourselves :D)

Bear with me – this is definitely an aahhhhh story.

Friend who provides us with our chickens bought round some day old chicks (these are usually the males, because they only need the females for egg production). :o I know, I know, it’s not very nice, but these chicks were already dead and our ferrets need food (they have babies to feed as well :D). Friend is getting them out of the car & realises that 1 is still alive and before anyone could say anything he’s given it a knock on the head and put it with the rest.

Anyhoo, OH puts aforementioned chicks in freezer in the shed.

Some 2 hours later OH is down the shed and can hear chirping coming from the freezer!!!!!

That chick was still alive, having survived 2 attempts to kill him, plus 2 hours in the deep freeze.

So, we spent last night sorting out a box with the boys whilst warning them gently that he would probably not survive the night. :(

By midnight he had thawed out, his eyes had opened and he was strutting about chirping. :) He drank some water from a dropper but wouldn’t eat the layers mash.

We went to bed and were woken very early this morning by very loud chirping. :D:mad:

He is now chirping, eating dry layers mash (his 4th lot today) and flying well enough to escape his box! :j:j:j (see, I told you this was about 'flying' ;))

The boys have named him Lucky….. :T

I will post a picture as soon as I figure out how to do it..... any ideas people?

Been to church, come back updated and listed another 14 lots on ebay. It is sooooooooo boring but necessary to be able to reclaim the dining room at some point! ANother couple of sales as well to sort.
