am i correct in saying that you can't get on the pleasure beach any more unless you've bought a wristband ????? (you used to be able to walk everywhere and just go on the rides you wanted) The reason is that we've two small children (5 & 2) and i think £60 for the four of us would still be wasted !

No you are free to walk around without a wristband, you just go through the ticket area. There are also boothes dotted about the place if you want to buy a few tickets or a wristband once you are in there.

im just back yesterday, went down on business and decided to take my wife and 2 kids for overnight stay......

Blackpool is a total sh.. hole!!!

80% of the people looked as if they had never had a bath or soap near them for months

it was punk weekend so full of colourful drunk people on the prom.....

its the dirtiest place ive been in and most of the hotels look as if they have not had a lick of paint for decades . the hotel i stayed in was clean but the decor was 1930s

went to the pleasure beach for a look about ... nothing changed

Well you should have stayed at my Hotel then shouldn't you Foxy! I wash frequently too! :)

Seriously though, it's a regeneration area, they are pumping billions into Blackpool. It is tired and stuck in a time warp but I've been here 2 years and love it.

Oh, don't waste your time feeling sorry for me, like I said, I love it here.:D

Not sure what you mean about 'our ethnic friends' at the pleasure beach so can't explain that I'm afraid.
  • We went end of July stayed at the big blue hotel right next to the pleasure beach. Tesco voucher wristbands and we had a great time. There were no long queues. It isn't Cannes it is Blackpool - as long as you go with realistic expectations you can have a ball. People watching is part of the fun! The hotel was superb and my children who have holidayed in much more luxurious places and have done Disney, Knotts Berry Farm and Universal in California thought it was brilliant.

Afraid not, we were there last week and they mark your hand with UV light as well as checking wrist bands.

The price is great but as they have got your money in advance the queue for prebooked tickets was rediculous with only one person serving, so get there early and be prepared.

All in all it represents great value for money, we went last Thursday and went on the Big One 4 times, queue time 20minutes and Valhalla ( our fave- but very wet ) twice, queue 40 minutes.

The entrance price includes a show - we saw Mystique - a caberet/magic/adult comedian affair which was pretty decent as our favourite Eclipse is closed on a Thursday.

    Your right Stumpt..

the queues can be long ,but well worth it.. If anyone plans to try Valhalla.. take some dry clothes and shoes...:D :D

As for the "big one" dont watch final destination 3 the night before...

Jay offers only available online Im afraid...Well worth it though..
