Always leave with good terms. You can give them 2 weeks notice and leave if not atleast try to convince them. We never know you may go back to the same employer in the future. Regarding your payments you can complain to department of labor

If you continue to work they can legally presume you agree to the new contract, I was told this when my works provided updated contracts with slightly different hours.

You need to put it in writing you are working under protest & do not agree to its terms, Their reply was dont worry about the hours stated in it just sign.
No thanks i did not want to work a sat or a sun at normal rate and at short notice.

I got a job elsewhere, They asked me to stay but i said not with that contract and i offered you the chance to sort that and you didn't now its too late.

I think it could be argued that she accepted it by continuing to work as normal even though she hadn't been paid.

So if I read this whole thread right:
She is leaving the job because she hasn't been paid for 3 months.
When she gets paid this week she will have to pay back the 1000 pounds she has been paid (already spotting anomalies here)
Meanwhile despite not having been paid for 3 months she has been paying full rent on her property, although she earns that little that she would be entitled to housing benefit)
Now she is going to be a full time foster mother. I hope she doesn't leave the children somewhere by mistake, her life seems to be very haphazard and confusing :o

Very surprised that an organisation the size of the Salvation Army would not have a central HR / payroll team.

Also surprised that three months in the OP has not gone above her boss's head and spoken to his boss about it if all these things are still not sorted out.

Maybe i did come across as a little confusing..... So i will clarify

Feb..... no wages in the bank ....Accepted it was teething problems and wa issued a 500 cheque from the cash office at work in lieu of wages...no wage slip.....

March.......same senario.... had words with payroll dept who said it was a unsigned document they would sort it before the next payday......... Again issued a cheque by cash office in lieu of wages ...no wage slip.

April........No wages in bank............. no cheque issued..... lots of calls to payroll ... Was told £1,600 was going into my account and i would have to pay back £1,000 i had in cheques previously........told it was going into bank via CHAPS..It didnt.........No wage slip

We do have a central payroll office/wage dept..I have been trying to get some sense out of them for the past 3 days.........

Yes i paid full rent on this low income what choice did i have..........

My life is certainly not confusing or haphazard.. I would manage quite well were i not surrounded by employers thats were incompetent. Maybe my title was misleading.... my greivance is clear...And to BLT i think i would make a very good foster mother thankyou.... not relevent was it and a tad spiteful! Thankyou for all the other constuctive advise.......

    Skingirl -

You will probably get alot more help if you start a new thread of your own rather than tagging yours onto tillysocute's thread.

For what its worth I think your husband will need to take his former employer to an emplloyment tribunal for the unpaid wages / holidays but I don't think there is anything he can do about the withdrawal of the job offer. Sorry.
