Pre payment gas and electric?

I was thinking about going over to a pre-payment meter for both gas and electric.
Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of this and how much it would be to change the meters over.

Thank you :)

    Couldnt agree more.

If you cant cope with bills, the next best thing is a weekly or monthly direct debit.
you get at least 2 discounts for this

    1 for paying direct debit
    and 1 for dual fuel.

    much cheaper than a meter.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Dont if you can you pay more. If money is tight shop around for a better deal and usually this means online account with direct debt this assuming matches your consumption with a bit spare for Winter you will be able to budget. I pay roughly £90 a month all year and have a little debt due to bad winter. But I monitor my usage every month

It is worth noting that prepayments rates are now in line with quarterly billing rates and dual fuel is not always cheaper ,you need to use a comparison site to check.
