Proof of ni number

Hi i have aplied for both cb and hb and have all the other details which they have asked for ie proof of id ,address ect but when it comes to my ni i have nothing that is under 10 years old which are an old wage slip and an old tenancy for where i live(but theres been a new owner since signed)any idea if these will do or what to do next

    if you are on state benefits the LA can confirm your NI number with the DWP, they have limited access to their records.

    thats the problem not on benifits and last employer never gave wage slips

    so what are you living on, on a day to day basis.? the council will want to know.

    they can still do a search on the dwp's systems using the ni number that you
    have declared on your hb form.

    if your details come up that would be sufficient proof of a NI number.

    btw, it is illegal for an employer not to give an employee a pay slip.

    I believe that it is illegal they have to provide both wages slips, P60 and P45's.

    thanks for the answer guys,im a stay at home dad so my sons work and i dont/didnt need to .as fror the wage slips i know its illiegal thats why i left.I written to the hmrc for a proof of ni but this will take upto 3 months

    Tell the Council what your NINO is and ask them to verify via CIS system;)

    My OH sent in a medical card that he had when he was 16 (28 years ago) and that was fine, i don't think it has to be anything recent, just proof of the NI number
