Sony phone video

I have a Sony Walkman mobile phone.
I have some video on the card, but I don't have a programme on my computer that will open it and play it. Does anybody have any suggestions.
I also cannot find the lead to attach it to the computer but I do have a card reader that it fits into.
Many thanks

Assuming that you've managed to copy the file onto your computer, what is the format of the video?
I would go to cnet.com and find a suitable converter to change the format on your video now to one which you can view on your computer. Or you could download a player which could open the file format.0 -

Thanks for the quick reply.
I haven't copied it on to the computer as I wasn't sure how to do it.
Will I be able to tell the format once I have copied it.
Sorry about this, but when it comes to a subject like this I am not knowledgeable.0 -
I have saved one of the videos and it says it is a 3GPP media file.
I keep getting a pop up for Nero asking me to register and saying that I need nero 8 to read it.0 -

Have you inserted the memory card reader into one of those USB type things?
If yes and you can open the memory card on your computer, either highlight all the files you want to copy and press simultaneously the 'control' and 'c' button.
Find a suitable place on your computer where you want to put the files and press simultaneously the 'control' and 'v' button. This should make a copy of the files (as you may already know - sorry if I sound patronising).
I've never used the above program but if it's advised by someone on this website, can't go wrong hopefully! And it does support your file type. Not sure how the program itself will work though.0 -
Thanks for the reply.
I will have a go at doing as you say.0 -

VLC is one of the best media players out there and it plays just about any format.

Thanks for the quick replies.
I saved the files to the computer and then opened them with Realplayer using the "open with" function.
I couldn't use things like slow motion but otherwise fine.
I will have a look at VLC later.0
