Tesco clubcard hols

:) Hya. Have many of you used your clubcard vouchers to go on holidays? Have heard a few people I know, saying it is really good thing. I`ve started saving mine for next year. Hoping for a cheapie holiday, if I use the vouchers.
Thanks

there have been various threads asking the same thing ( me included lol)

general consensus seems to be that while its a good idea in principle you dont get any of the special offers etc so have to pay full brochure price and when you say you wish to pay using clubcard vouchers the price takes a hike upwards !!!

    Hi

My family and I are going to Belgium for 10 days at the end of the month.

2 days in Brussels Marriott, B&B, using £100 premium pounds vouchers = free stay

7 nights at Sunparks in luxury villa using clubcard vouchers = free stay.

4 eurostar crossings using clubcard vouchers = free travel

N.B. We could have crossed with Eurotunnel free as part of the holiday deal but we don't have a car any longer.

    Not bad eh!

    Sheila,
I am saving for a holiday next year, hopefully paid for by Tesco vouchers. Did you book the 'Sunparks' through Cresta or is it part of Siblu (or whatever they call themselves)?

Has anyone any comments about Cresta, Virgin or other holiday companies Tesco have a partnership with? Do you have to book up early as I'd like to wait till I have the most vouchers b4 booking (maybe after Feb 2007)?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It really depends who you book through. I find that Haven will give you the special deals regardless of how you pay, and Cresta are okay, but are leaving the scheme in October so you will have to have booked and given your vouchers to them by the 31st Oct 2006. (Includes Bridge)

Cosmos are expensive - they stick to the brochure price and allow no discounts but haven't quoted from Virgin yet!

We have had a Haven week with the family and 2 weekend aways with Cresta
  • I am also saving up my clubcard points for a possible holiday in the future and already they are burning a hole in my pocket! There are so many cheap deals around anyway that I am wondering whether this is my best route to take (no pun intended). eg I have been AI 7nights to greece 4* this year with a family of four for £1200. Last year we got sc deal to Lanzarote for £99 each named. I cant help thinking that Tesco holiday deals will never match these bargains. There must be more of you out there who can make some good recommendations of the best way to use these vouchers or should this be in the Clubcard discussion?

    Hi

It is a shame but Cresta is leaving the clubcard deals as stated earlier. I had a lot of problems with them as I requested a villa that was only in their brochure on request i.e. not listed but I ended up paying less than the standard ones as they had to ask specially and we were given a discount.

I think that Siblu, previously known as Haven Europe, and Haven are staying in the scheme. Funnily enough, some of the Siblu holidays seem to be cheaper than staying in Britain as the schools seem to go back earlier in Europe.

I had to save for 2 years to get the above and now that they have cut back on voucher codes it will probably take longer. Still a free holiday cannot be sneezed at!!

If you want any details about the hotel stay then pm me as it a really good deal.

    Hi Abbecer

We went to Butlins Skegness using tesco vouchers back in May. You need to cash your vouchers in first for butlins vouchers (really easy to do online at tesco.com) ours arrived the next day. Then you ring butlins direct book hol quoting codes on vouchers BUT you need to post them straight away (recorded delivery). You pay full broucher price which for us worked out at 275 but as all paid in vouchers cost nothing, plus stayed half board so no cooking for mum - Result in my book:beer:

Cosmos told me that they won't discount the brochure price but if you book when they have their offer of whatever percent off brochure prices they'll give you that.

Me and family are off to Butlins on 1st September all paid for with Tesco deals. Staying in Gold accommodation self catering (fully booked with half board).

Had to pay full brochure price so no discounts are allowed - but if you are paying with tesco vouchers it dosent matter.

Just had a mailing from butlins saying my holiday is near now and they have sent me some vouchers to spend while we are there. Money off take-away food places, 2 for 1 eat at ..... etc.

Very easy to do - just change your tesco vouchers to butlins vouchers and when you phone butlins up to book give the voucher numbers then send them to butlins. Suggest you send them recorded delivery in case they get lost in the post.

Really looking forward to going now and the kids cant wait - they love it.
