I'm definitely claiming off his policy, it's just that my company (Tesco) are doing the running around for me. It's my first proper collision in 15 years of driving so I wasn't really confident enough to deal with his insurers myself. If you are going to get a hire car as part of the deal I think it is entirely possible that the car will be written off. The bonnet is creased, so is the slam panel damaged/moved? Pound to a penny both the headlight mounts will be broken too.
Sorry, no idea what the slam panel is and wouldn't know if the headlight mounts are broken - I'm a girl
A hire car has been delivered, a mere snip at £1400 for the estimated 22 days  I actually feel sorry for the other insurance company as that's extortionate.0 -

FYI the slam panel is the bit under the bonnet that runs around the front edge of the car behind the grille
.
Glad it's getting sorted0
