RightMove - Estate Agents' thoughts...

Hello,

I am a buyer (2nd time in 1 year - eekkk) and think that Rightmove is an invaluable tool for a buyer. I find myself logging on around 7 times a day, if not more!!

In addition to the points raised above, I really like the 'Email' property alerts - although sometimes they arrive 5 hours after the EA has loaded the property and I had already seen it!

I also really like the 'Price Comparison Report' that shows prices of properties, inc pictures that have sold in the same road over the past few years. This is such a great tool for any buyer / seller.

They have most of the EAs all in one easy to use site. Their recent "view on a map" facility is brilliant as you can instantly scan through only the ones you're interested in, as opposed to those on the wrong road/estate/side of a river, etc

Enable the user to choose how many properties per page load.
Enable better filtering of properties, specifically so you can view "residential" as opposed to "restrictions" or "commercial". It'd be nice to be able to see all flats, bungalows and houses (residences) in one go (you'd have to perform three searches to do this at present.

The other sites aren't as easy to use and don't offer as much functionality. Although I use PrimeLocation sometimes it's top heavy on graphics/technology/applications and try to force you to register to look at the full details. PropertyFinder - I just had to load that to see if I'd even heard of it, ah, part of Zoopla... I rarely go there. FindAProperty - dated interface now, again it's not as functional as RM. None of the others seem to have so many properties on their list as RM do, so it's just easy to go to RM and accept you're missing some out but it'd take too long to check every/all sites every day.

I'm not from RightMove, but I want to get a general feel for the company if possible. Please air your views!

I've no desire to even look at furren properties, never looked, so no idea.

Annoyances about RM:
- It's the agents really, the way they list things wrongly. e.g. a flat is listed as a house in error. Agents often skimp, so the filters in place on the left (e.g. garage, parking, etc) are mostly useless.
- It'd be nice to be able to filter on multiple items. e.g. house AND bungalow AND flat.
- It'd be nice to be able choose "never show me this pile of sh1te ever again" so you ended up only managing a list of stuff you are watching.
