Is it too late to plant summer flowering bulbs?

I would. They seem to catch up even if they don't flower this year, and they won't like being left in the packet for another year.import this0

I am a very 'amatuer' gardener and it's all a bit pot luck for my poor plants. I'm afraid that I've flung all sorts of bulbs into pots much later than this. We've had some cracking displays in September!! (No bad thing - we're away most Augusts, camping!!)Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

Gladioli they said on gardeners world take 100 days in which to flower0

I would plant them, what else are you going to do? try & store them until the "correct time"?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Yes put them in. If you keep them a year they could rot or something. Im still waiting for the 120 summer bulbs I ordered through the freebie site (pay just £4.90 postage) - Ill certainly put them in when they do finally arrive.0

I planted half of my J Parker special offer ones about 3 weeks ago, the alliums are poking through; although I looked up some of the varieties in a flower book, and they advised plant the bulbs towards the end of May.
Some of the bulb types recommended lifting again before the first frost, but as I forgot to label them, this will probably not be done.0
