I posted this after i downloaded the tool bar, Is this still happening?
    WARNING ABOUT THIS!

Tonight my IE was taken over by this, It went to this page

    http://search.freecause.com/?m=dns&toolid=61465&userid=37433713&p=www.thatfree bie.com&dnss=1

I did a clean and ad-ware and it was still there, in the end i read this thread (thanks) and removed the toolbar and now my IE is back to normal.

Download this at your own risk.

I had this a few months ago but uninstalled it in the end, 50 points a month is only 25p, its not worth that to me to have another intrusive toolbar on my web browser, I don't much like the Yahoo search engine either.

I installed this on Firefox which I never use (Chrome FTW!) and just searched away for 15 minutes to get the 50 points and they were on my account shortly after, not bad.

Be very careful with this toolbar, the company behind it have been accused of "stealing" affiliate commissions from click throughs of computers who have one of their toolbars installed.

This could mean that you may not get cashback tracked correctly from sites such as topcashback/Quidco etc, and for the sake of 25p/month for me at least I don't think it's worth it.

There are many other complaints if you search the web...just be careful
  • After upgrading FireFox to the new version 11.0, using the Nectar search bar causes FF to exit. I need to do further investigations and/or wait for a fix, but meanwhile people may prefer not to upgrade FF.

The good news, however, is that having restarted FF, my Nectar searcher/points counters which had stopped updating now include all the searches I did since it got stuck (if that makes sense).

I am on Firefox 11.0 and am not having any problems with the toolbar and searching. I've just done 30 searches to add 15 points and FF hasn't crashed. The points did stop adding up at one point. Restarting it fixed that though. Hope you figure out what's causing the problem with yours.

  • Thanks for your good wishes, which did the trick -- it's now working again following a couple of restarts after installing something else. I think it's even added points for searches I did using the Yahoo search bar at the top (which didn't crash) rather than the lower one next to the Nectar button (which did).

Has this stopped working for anyone else? For the past week none of my searches have qualified. I've emailed Freecause support but they haven't replied. No point emailing Nectar as they just tell me to email Freecause! It looks like they've put some kind of ban on my account which is really frustrating as I've been searching exactly the same way since I installed it over a year ago.

    A similar story here.

A pop-up appears virutally every time I do a search which directs me to http://client.freecause.com/FreeCause/search/nectar.php?tool_id=61465.

They appear to have dramatically tightened up on things, presumably because of people like me who carry out searches to specifically earn points.
