Well...
You could go with AutoAid for £32. The cheapest option. You pay AutoAid £32 and when you break down you ring them up and they send out a company. You then pay this company the costs and claim it back from AutoAid. Lots of people on the website are members of this and this is good level of cover.
You could have a look at Green Flag, who are doing a "Free Home Service" at the moment. So you could purchase the basic level cover and get the home service free so it works out quite cheap. With Green Flag you won't have to bother paying them and claiming it back and there a no call out charges etc.
Or you could have a look at https://www.sharpinsurance.co.uk (or .com). For £44.99 you have a comprehensive cover in the UK and Europe.
Me and family are planning to join upto Green Flag in the next couple of days. £65ish for 2 cars, recovery and home service plus £20 back via Quidco. So £22.50ish per car ...0 -
I'm not fond of quidco, do any other cash back sites work alongside brakedown companies??0

The Environmental Transport Association offers breakdown cover from £39. However, if you get a current member to 'refer' you to them then you get it half price! And they get £10 too.
http://www.eta.co.uk/
They are used by the RSPB for all their vehicles amd are not part of the road lobby. You can also chose to offset your emmisions with them by investing in renewable energy.
I would be happy to refer you getting you a good deal and obviously me too!0 -

Can you get it half price on the silver/home rescue cover???0 -
My hadbook says the person you recruit will receive 50% off ETA membership fees upon joining when they quote your (the referers) ETA number.
I would therefore assume it would work with any level of cover.
I wonder if I left the ETA for a year and then went back to them whether I could take advantage of this discount by being refered to them by someone else who is a member??0 -
take alook at this page on the MSE site http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1094823518,14076,
it tells you all about breakdown services i have just bought the europe assistance cover Home and roadside recovery inc Europe for £590 -
You can get Home and Roadside, Uk and Europe for £44.99 on https://www.sharpinsurance.co.uk ...0

I have just checked my handbook again and you get europe covered with the eta automatically. You even reverse the call charges to them! That beats all these others hads down, and is environmentally friendly too.
Send me a private message if you want to go with the eta.
PS. I'm going to Ireland for a week tonight.0 -
