I have seena few flyers around from Sky regarding their Sky Talk telephone service. Does anyone currently use them/recommend them? They say it is £5 per month for unlimited calls. i currently use tesco ( only because I got 2000 points for joining ) but am looking to change as they are not that competative.
Thanks

I had Sky Talk around a year ago, excellent service, however I left for Nildrams Homecall service, as it was cheaper, but £5 for unlimited ladline calls is pretty comppetitive.
As i say a year ago they were excellent.0 -

It's currently a CPS service, you are free to leave after 28 days, if you are sure you make more than 166 daytime calls each and every month, then it's a pretty good deal.
The Sky Talk service each call is free up to 60 mins, you have to hang up and redial if you don't want to start paying for the rest of the call.
I believe the Tesco service you can chat longer than just 60 mins without additional charges.
Though the Sky service is only 45.5% of the cost of the Tesco service, so even if you forget a couple of times to hang up before 60 mins, you will be saving.
At £5 inclusive calls are probably worth it, at around £10 it's not worth it, when you can get free evening and weekend calls for no adadditionalnd daytime calls for only 3 pence each. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I'm glad someone's asked about this as I was offered Sky Talk when phoning to cut down on our Sky tv package. I'm currently on Pipex Homecall paying £9.99 line rental plus £6.25 inclusive calls, but my 3 month half price trial is up so they are way more expensive at £12.50 for the all inclusive calls package.
I think I'll give Sky Talk a go if no-one here has a bad word to say?????
And after doing a search on this site the cheapest 'home phone only' provider was another company at £7.50 for all inclusive calls - does anyone know if Martin has reviewed Sky Talk yet and I've just not been able to find it doing a search???

Are you tied into a 12 month contract with Pipex Home call for the line rental? If you have line rental with anyone else other than BT you can't use CPS providers such as Sky Talk.
The people I know personally and on various forums who have used Sky Talk in the past have had no problems, back then I would say it wasn't worth switching as there were cheaper providers out there, but the £5 deal is very competitive if you do make over 166 day time calls each and every month.
As the end of the day, what have you to lose? It's CPS so you can always route calls back over BT or via another provider whilst you switch to another CPS service.

Also you need to hang up and redial before 60 mins otherwise they start charging 0.8p/min.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
