Using tesco vouchers for Hilton

Hi, has anybody done this? I booked the Hilton Metropole on Monday and i sent off for my Tesco rewards last Saturday. The problem is Hilton state that they need to receive the vouchers within seven days of the booking and my Tesco deals only arrived in the post this afternoon! As it's a bank holiday on Monday it means that i won't be able to post them until Tuesday and they will get there on Wednesday which will be two days late. Does anyone know what happens if the vouchers are late getting to them? I telephoned Hilton today but they didn't know and suggested i phone back on Tuesday to speak to someone from their leisure break department. I am just worried that i am going to end up being charged £410 for the booking and not be able to use the clubcard vouchers.

Sorry no idea, although they would be within their rights to charge you for the stay.

All I can suggest is be very nice to the person on the end of the phone, if it's your first time say so as they may understand and say you'll be sending them special delivery (as you should always do) so they will get them next day. Maybe phone back with the tracking number after you've sent them?
This is a lesson - always order the vouchers before booking.

I've just read through the terms and conditions again and it appears that you actually have seven working days to send in the voucher. So no need to worry after all. I'm surprised when i rang Hilton they didn't know this though - they told me i'd have to get the vouchers back to them by Monday too.

I wouldn't worry unduly. Our neighbour booked and had a discount on a holiday (cosmos?), the wife forgot to send the vouchers and about 10 days after the booking they rang the husband. He wasn't best pleased but they promised to send them out the next day. Sorted.

Oh that's good news. Hopefully they'll actually know the working days rule when they receive the vouchers! I do find it annoying/strange (!) when the company themselves doesn't know the rules but the customer does!

We have used the tesco vouchers for a Hilton stay (back in Feb this year) I booked the break over the phone then ordered my vouchers via the clubcard website. The took about 5 or 6 days to arrive, I then posted them special delivery to the address it gave (think it was a Glasgow address?). I then checked royal mail and they had been signed for the next day.

A few days later I received a recorded delivery from Hilton with 'Tesco clubcard Hilton vouchers' ?!? They basically swapped the tesco looking ones for Hilton looking ones! I phoned them and they said that this was correct and I pay for the stay in the new vouchers when I checked in.

Very long winded process I thought! Checked in and the reception accepted them no problem - in fact I had ordered about £6 too much and they just credited the room with the monies so we had £6 knocked off a round of drinks!

Hilton via Tesco is a fantastic way of spending them - I love my clubcard!

I fancy doing this next year for us for some cheap days out but have been wary of how it works, nice to know it's been done successfully.

I have used them, no problems at all. I had £10 too much and they used that to cover the car park costs.
