I've already noticed an increase in the price of good bread. The kids don't normally like homemade bread but they're not getting a choice this week as the Tesco bread was all stale anyway and I was not bringing any of that home
I got two loaves of the new Omega 3 bread which was on special offer and that was that!

oh dear i hope bread prices don't go up. we use about a loaf a day. i do like home made bread but i find it not so nice toasted. but if price do go up then i'll just have to get used to it.0

With 3 teenagers at home, it's quite usual to go through a sliced loaf in 1 day. But since I got one of the bargain Morphy Richards breadmakers, we've had fresh bread every day. The kids complain if there isn't any of "my" bread available! The upside is that one 1.5lb loaf is enough for 5 of us - it's so much more filling than sliced bread (and no extra chemicals) and makes great toast, too."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

I run a transport business and contract to large companies - I think its amazing people saying that things have increased due to the cost of diesal as myself and all the other transport firms I know have not been able to increase our rates in line with the oil increases - in fact have been told by one of our clients who is a massive international company making millions per year that we need to cut our rates to become more competitive! Think a lot of companies just using this as an excuse.
Anyway sorry for wandering a bit off thread! I hope it doesnt go up too much, I usually buy bread when its on special and am lucky in that I can get bread flour from my local bakers for a reasonable price.0 -
I hope there isn't a rise, i do find that good bread does cost alot already and as a family of five we go through alot of the stuff. I do make my own but not daily and i find that it goes quicker than shop brought as everyone loves fresh homebaked.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Well, no evidence of a rise is asda this evening...
I got a pack of 8 petit pains, 2 packs of croissants, a pack of 12 crumpets, a large french loaf, a fruit soda bread, a chicken and mushroom pie, 2 extra special pain au raisin, 2 packs of 4 plain scones and 3 mini ciabatta....
all for 1.35 :rotfl:
I love reductions!!Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
I couldnt believe the cost of a loaf in tescos earlier.
We usually have granary, there was literally no granary under a quid, then brown, aside from their sqaure sliced ( im not a fan) the next one was the organic wholemeal at 65p . So we had that but I think over a quid for a loaf of fairly good brown bread, is a lot.
When I move house and get a decent kitchen, im buying a breadmaker. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
