Robinson Way - Help I don't agree I owe them

If they've fallen off your file already i wouldn't even contact them!
I'd forget about the gym thing, there's no way they'll carry on wasting money on chasing a small debt.
They will chase for any debt, they have bought the debt for coppers and will ask you to pay the full amount, that is why after a year or so they 'offer' you a 'deal' making it look as they are helping you out, thry still make a profit on it.Like good food and drink?

But they won't take it to court will they, i mean? They can send all the letters they want, that's their perogative (and loss)
(or i'd be surprised if they did go that far for a sub-£200 debt tbh)0 -

It is very unlikely for them to do so.
You will be taken to court for non payment of income tax, vat evasion etc.Like good food and drink?

I didn't know that, I thought that they would take you to court each and everytime.
Never actually thought that it might not be worth their while for less than a certain amount.RainbowLiberty0 -

When you say they bought it for coppers, roughly how much do you think is the absolute minimum they might accept to settle it completely.
I really begrudge paying them anything as I don't agree with the debt and it no longer shows on my file but if I could get them to stop sending me letters it would be fantastic.RainbowLiberty0 -

Without going into too much detail, I knew someone who owed a certain company £5880 about 10 years ago, the debt was passed on to two or three other DCA's, six weeks ago they were (my friend) offered a 'deal' if they contacted the DCA within 4 weeks they would only have to pay £3100. That in itself tells you a lot.Even allowing for all costs of sending out letters, phone calls etc ,the DCA must be making money out of it.Like good food and drink?

They did send me a letter before Easter offering me the chance to clear it for 50% of the amount outstanding - but as I have other debts and really don't know what is happening regarding them or whether I will eventually have to go down the route of DRO or bankruptcy then I didn't want to show any kind of preference to Robinson Way.
Especially as this is the only one out of my debts that I totally disagree with. I don't believe I owe them and it sticks in my throat the idea of giving them anything. Hence paying them 11p per month - well I've actually cancelled that now so they won't be receiving that anymore either. It's going to cost them more to post the letters chasing me than they were getting.RainbowLiberty0 -
This may be a better factsheet.

Received a letter today from Robinson Way saying just because they can't find proof that I owe them any money the fact that I have been making payments proves to them that I acknowledge the debt and I have to continue paying them. Even though there is no record of the debt anymore on my credit file as it defaulted years ago.
Very very tempted to just completely ignore them, I've already written to them prior to this letter saying I wouldn't be having any further correspondence with them until they can prove I owe the debt with an agreement.
Will have to wait and see what happens now.RainbowLiberty0
