Singing pipes...Help!

Is there a plumber out there that can advise please?

When we flush our loo it sounds like the Queen mary is arriving! Very loud foghorn sound. It goes off a bit when a tap is turned on.

Old house.

Any ideas?

Replace the ball valve in the toilet cistern.

My OH is a plumber and says...
If you feel confident enough you can do it yourself otherwise get a plumber to do this which is not a big job...half an hour should do this.
A company should charge about £100
A friend of a friend would charge a lot less.

Just as easy to strip the ballvalve down, clean any debris / limescale, reassemble will take you all of 15 - 20 minutes....
