Check your renewal cost
Just got my RAC renewal and it has gone up from £22.00 to £64.50 with a membership discount of £14.40 taking it to £50.50. As far as I can see it is the same cover so it has more than doubled in a year. My car is 5 yrs old so not in the dearer category of over 10yrs. Needless to say I have cancelled it but it was only by luck that I checked the amount before the standing payment went through.

the term 'membership discount' is quite funny really when new customers get a lower price (assuming it's basic cover)

I always buy my RAC membership using Tesco Clubcard points. If you have that option, it will dramatically reduce the cost.0

Forgotmyname, your are quite correct when you say "its not so much of a saving".forgotmyname wrote: »With tesco deals now worth double in store its not so much of a saving.
However, clubcard points are worth four times face value when using clubcard deals, so still a significant saving.0 -

I beg to differ! I paid £35 for my last renewal. Full price was £133.
Saving... £98.0
