Hiya,
As above I had a battery leak in my Wii Fit Balance Board. Not much visible damage other than it has eroded one of the silver 'points' that holds the battery in place. Is this fixable do you know?
I have a replacement so I wonder is this unit is sellable at a boot sale if advertised as above so that the damage is known. There worth around £65 new. I was going to chuck it but if I can get say a fiver for it that would be great if someone can fix it and get some use out of it.
Any advice gratefully received even if it is just to say it needs to be chucked.
Thank you.

Don't know if you can fix it as its a corrosive I am basing this on other electrical items I used to sell. Well a good example is a torch after the battery has leaked. I really hope i am wrong for you and someone will come soon and ball me out.The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0

Can you clean off the corrosion to bare metal so that the battery can make a good connection?
When I had a similar problem with a battery clock, I cleaned off the corrosion as best I could and wrapped a bit of tin foil around the terminal.
This did work. however I’m not sure if it would work or if it would be advisable for a Wii.
I don’t know how much room you have to play with as you must keep the foil clear of other metal components.
My clock uses a tiny current. I don’t know the current in a Wii.
The tin foil adds another metal and you may get a reaction between battery, foil and battery post that could make the corrosion worse.0 -
I had this with mine and you can replace it with a sealed unit, available in Argos.

Wash the acid off, hot water applied by a very small brush (interdent toothbrush) or cotton bud - ?? The solder should be ok. No lead is in new solder work so may be impervious to acid attack although does look dull by the old soldering tin/lead method.0
