    Firstly HMRC have accepted and paid out so good news!

    However I would imagine that you/they have interpreted and indicated that the car allowance payments were indeed to be treated as approved mileage rate payments and as such the additional tax relief has been paid out on that basis.

    Whilst great for you i wouldn;t want this thread to giove incorrect hope that car allowances paid as part of a package can then be treated as "tax free" because generally they cannot
