Bank Holiday due date?

I've just paid my Virgin card using faster payments, but having looked at the statement, the due date is 3rd May - a bank holiday Monday! As they don't usually credit the faster payments until after the weekend, does this mean that I'm gonna be whacked with a late fee because they've given me a date I can't possibly pay on?

And yes, I know I could have just paid the bill earlier, but it's done now, so don't have a go.

Not used FPs with my Virgin card (use DD and BACS), but are the FP transactions normally backdated once they appear on your statement (as is often the case with BACS payments)?

Why did OP knowing that a bank holiday was coming up delay making the payment until the last minute?

Yes, your probably going to get charged as your late.

Why not just pay by DD and avoid all these problems, or are you one of these people who have an ethos of paying late ? If your can't organise yourself then DD puts the emphasis on the providers soughting out the payment.
  • You will be charged im afraid, as due dates are cycled in at the start of every year it's not manually processed that due dates will not fall on a weekend or B/H, so it is your responsibility to check when it's due to be paid.
