Wedding day schedule

Trying to write out the day schedule, im having a civil ceremony. No readings. How long would this usually take? :)

So far i have

10:15am - Arrive
10:20am - Pre wedding interview
10:30am - Ceremony starts
11:00am-12:00pm - Photo's

(then we have a 6 hour gap where everyone is going home and having lunch/dinner and getting ready for evening. Me and OH are going to decorate reception venue and then go for a meal together)

6pm - Recption starts

11pm - Reception finishes.

Right, where does this stuff go in between 6 and 11? :D

Cutting of cake, first dance, speeches, buffet.

Sorry for all the threads im posting recently. Its 34 days away and i really need help :D
I tried asking my mum but she just says "well thats not how it goes" to everything i suggest :(

aw dont worry thats what were here for!
as traditionally as it can be it would be speeches then the last speaker announces cutting of cake, which leads on nicely to the first dance after that i think
then i'd have buffet after that
but it really is upto how you want it!

actually i just edited to say i think id have buffet then first dance after youve had something to eat
I am not bossy I just have better ideas:p

awww that sounds lovely having a meal with your new hubby-and no one else is that right? wish i could do that! lol

i would have maybe speeches cutting cake first dance buffet
or the way which last post said

oh had a though i personally coudnt dance with a full tum and have everyone eating/getting food rather then pay attention to us lol also at leats then you can sit and eat and mingle and not worry about interupting mid conversations with the speeches cake buffet

sorry i go to one idea then to another!

Civil ceremony with no readings takes about 15 mins, 20 if you linger over the register signing. :) We're having the same.

Our civil ceremony took a touch longer, but that was because of the fact they let us linger in the room to take photos as the weather outside was absolutely blooming awful!

We did buffet > speeches > more buffet (we overcatered and the caterers were flipping awesome) > cake - but the poor best man was so terrified at the prospect of having to do his speech he had no appetite and spent the meal going progressively whiter and whiter with fright (the catering staff kept him a plateful of food back for when his nerves were over with)!

    We're having
    2.30 pm ceremony
    3.00 photos etc
    4pm wedding breakfast
    followed by speeches
    7.00 cake cutting
    7.30 first dance
    8.30 evening buffet
    12.00 finish

I think if you have your buffet earlier than that people wont be hungry yet, especially if they're eating before they come. And i agree with the other poster about people eating while you're doing your dance, id hate that!
