    I get two types...

Asda cheapo (20p?) ones for snacks - split in half (ie to make two thin pieces), then cut each bit into 4. Drizzle with olive oil and grill both sides til golden brown. Very yummy with dips :D

Aldi 50p a pack ones last a few months unopened (good for me cus they always go off!), they're large and split properly unlike some so good for actually using as pitta bread :) Most of the supermarket ones are rubbish in that respect...

So maybe time for a trip to Aldi if you cant get them at Asda...

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but when I was looking for pitta bread yesterday, I just remembered reading this a while back. In Tesco's there was NO white pitta bread whatsoever other than the extra large size, plenty of wholemeal but that was it. I presume it was to do with this national shortage rather than just being out of stock? Did anyone ever shed any light on it?

I regularly buy the large pitta breads from Tesco - they're quite often 2 for the price of 1. I did notice the other day that there were very few left though.

They are the best ones I've come across, they're 93p I think?
