Upgrade Laptop RAM Memory

Remember to remove the battery

Slotting in the RAM for a laptop is easy. Normally this just means removing a cover on the bottom of the laptop and slotting this in.
I don't know this exact model of Toshiba laptop, but recently I was asked to upgrade one (Toshiba laptop, but can't remember the model). I was surprised to find that the RAM is installed underneath the keyboard. This involved taking the keyboard out (a few clips), unplugging it (keyboard), removing the cover over the RAM slots, and after, putting it back again.
Check your user manual to find out where your RAM is on your laptop. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I've just downloaded, and checked your user manual out. Your RAM slots are underneath the keyboard.
If you check out your user manual, it gives you step by step instructions how to add more memory. It shows you exactly how to do this for your model of laptop. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Generally upgrading laptop memory is fairly easy - remove a cover and carefully slot in the memory module. If it already has 2 modules in there (open it up and check before buying) then you would need to remove one of the old modules. Make sure you take care regarding static electricity whilst doing this - you can fry your whole machine if you are careless.
You can find Crucial, including their memory advisor, at http://www.crucial.com/uk/
They are pretty cheap, and very fast and reliable - in particular they take stuff back with no quibbling in my experience.
I'm going to be adding more RAM to my desktop PC in the comming weeks...do i need to take precautions due to the static electricity as well??

If you're at home, just touch your radiator/or a tap before you pick up and install the RAM. I've built countless systems at home, and never had a problem yet (I always walk around barefoot as well). How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
