Hi everyone,
Bit of advice needed please....
In june we are due to move house with out 3 gorgeous kitties. .....
The problem is one of the cats isn't all there (has epiliepsy and balance problems) and I'm esp worried about him.
Wow! I also have 3 cats, one with epilepsy/balance probs and am moving home in late May/early June!
I'm more worried about the tom cat living next door to our new house, he is used to having full run of our garden but is going to find himself with a bit of competition soon
I agree with what has been said above, the cats will soon wise up to the dogs. As my epicat cannot jump very high I'm going to ensure that my garden fences at a height that will keep her in while allowing the other 2 out. Mind you, some of mine is hedges and the little madam seems to be able to wriggle through anything, balance problems or not!My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

As regards foxes and cats-have heard of foxes chasing cats ( but only one).Don't think most urban foxes bother. Our neighbour has seen our Siamese chasing the local fox out of her garden. She has an old Anderson shelter at the bottom of the garden and it's a hangout for local cats.0

I have a German Shepherd that lives with cats, and all the neighbor hood cats give our garden a miss, but i can't say the same for the squirrels who send my mut into a frenzy or the fox that passes through every night and sends him racing for the door in a morning to sniff and er wee all over the garden trailQue sera sera-whatever will be will be0

You could cat-proof the fence on the dog side - if you search Purrsinourhearts forums there are links to companies or DIY ideas.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Wow Racy Red thats coincidence! You don't have one with an amputated tail too do you?
Now that would be freaky! Do you know much about epilepsy in cats? One vet I went to said it wasn't common in cats and that there may be an underlying cause?? Our current vet said that as all three of our cats were brought into the cats protection at few days old with cat flu it might have affected the cerebellum of his brain, hence all the balance problems too. Love him to bits tho and I know its mean but can't help but chuckle when I see him wobble along the fence as he tries to keep up with his sisters :rotfl:
As far as cat proofing the fence against the dogs - its a rented property so not really an option, plus they could get in though the back of the fence as we both back onto a park. But thank you all for your advice and we keep you posted xx0
