Now I may be wrong but I always thought you planted bulbs in the autumn for spring flowering.
Got a packet of bulbs for a quid from er, poundland
with gladioli, iris and anemone bulbs and it said plant something like Jan - May so I planted them a few weeks ago.
Will they do well or should I have waited til the Autumn? I can see a couple of shoots coming up through the ground this morning
Also - I have a pot of fading daffodils...do I need to deadhead them or just let them die down naturally? Sorry I think this has been asked before but I cannot find the thread.

I planted a whole lot of bulbs about 6 weeks ago that I didn't manage to plant because of the snow and they're all coming up fine. (Bit odd to see grape hyacinths, crocuses, alliums, hyacinths, lily of the valley and daffs all at the same time though!) So they should be okay.
I deadhead my daffodils and leave the leaves, that way they're not putting goodness into dead flowers and they're getting nutrients from the leaves. (I think anyway... :rotfl:) Mummy to an amazing little girl

They will be summer flowering bulbs, so that's ok, you will hopefully see them come up this summer.
You would plant Tulips and Daffs in the autumn to come up for spring.
You can dead head the daffs, but leave the greenery on for a while longer.0 -
