A big thank you to the girl on the checkout at Lidl this morning, my trolly load came to just over £35 and she told me that if I bought a Daily Record for 65p I could use the voucher in it and save £5.
I shop there regularly and chat to the staff every time I go in but I am very guilty of not remembering names but well done to her for thinking of me.

The Lidl UK site have a 'contact us' area, perhaps an email directly to them naming the store might be nice......................0

That's really good of her to tell you.
We did a shop at Morrisons on Wednesday that came to about £70, this included Avatar on DVD and a copy of the Daily Star. It was only because I was quickly looking for something after she scanned it through that I found a voucher for Get Avatar for £5 if you spend £50 or more so I ripped it out and gave it the girl so we got £7 off. I would have been annoyed with myself if I found it after we'd got home.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.0

Had threads about Lidl staff before about them reminding customers, they all deserve a medal.
I think the last one was about one of the staff even bringing in a voucher from her own paper at home and giving it to a customer.
Brilliant customer service.:Tmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
They get the money back from the voucher so haven't lost anything there, and an extra 65p sale from the newspaper.Surely there is something wrong in doing that, whilst it may be good customer service there must be something that says they cannot harm company trading?
Then they get a happy customer who is more likely to come back.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

If you read any voucher, it will have something about how the store will get paid for the voucher. It will vary for each one, but basically the store itself will send it off to some coupon handling centre. So they're not losing out by accepting it.How do they get the money back then, the op just stated it was a £5 voucher of the shop, not that it was from a supplier or anything?Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
