Worktop join got wet, anything I can do?

Our kitchen fitter placed a worktop join around 300mm from the edge of the sink. I wasn't happy at the time but he'd already done it by the time I'd seen it. He said fitting guidelines suggested no closer than 300mm so the join was ok there.
Less than 2 years later, the join is raised in 2 parts. We had tried to be careful and always mop up any water but clearly we weren't careful enough. Is there anything we can do to fix it, or even just stop it from getting worse. I'm really not up for the upheaval of replacing it right now.
It's just a normal Wickes laminate worktop btw.

Sorry to here about your problem.
Any joint near water will have this problem. Even using water proof glue would not stop moisture getting into the chip board. If you can run some pva into the joint it may help. If not you will just have to try and keep it dry. There could be a type of fix, and that is to router a strip in. This would be rather messy but would mean not ripping out completely. The measure of love is love without measure0 -
I think unfortunately its new work top time. you won't be able to get it to flatten down properly and John suggestion would just a temporary solution. Sorry to a bearer of bad news.0
