    lmc - sounds tricky.

Without sounding funny, I'm cross that I'm finding this so hard. It is definitely possible to write a dissertation type report and get a pass, so why am I struggling so much? Grr.

Lots of other girls on my course have got their pass so I just think why can't I?

  • Katsu - I think I know what I want to write, but it's getting it onto paper and making it flow.

    You will do it.

katsu - make bullet points of thoughts and ideas, then see if you can make them into a paragraph.

LMC - I'm struggling terribly too. I *will* make progress tho :)

Hello my DD - have not phoned as I thought I'd leave you in peace to study. I was just thinking, in regard to your skin problems....I never had any problems as such with mine until I hit the menopause and now my skin is so dry I feel like Lepers R Us!!! I have dreadful flaking areas all over my face but try to keep it at bay with moisture creams (not necessarily high-end, as long as a cheaper one does the job that's fine with me). Unfortunately, flaking skin also appears to go hand in hand with lymphoedema and since my levels are chronic and then some, I shed skin to olympic levels these days, in fact, if I had bed bugs, they'd be like galapagos bedbugs! ;) I'm wondering if your GP should be checking your hormone levels (since my menopause symptoms started in my latter 30s)...I know you're way off your late 30s but maybe your hormones are at odds. Also, over the past 5-10 years or so, I started get stress related eczema which again on me is a facial thing and seems to attack certain areas when I'm stressed.

Since I am stressed to hell at the moment, it all just made me wonder about your difficulties. I remain convinced that the pressures you are under at work and the ensuing stress is bound to affect you Kat, if you add up work; studying; worrying about your DH; worrying about your dad and me; and other general stuff then maybe the idea of a proper holiday would be a very very good thing. It would do you good to get away and switch off completely, just have some quality time with your DH and slow down instead of rushing around all over the place. Making mortgage OPs is all well and good but you need to look after yourself and your health first and foremost.

Right now I know what's causing a lot of my stress and it will only resolve itself in due course, I can't speed it up. There's a hard knot of pain and a sick feeling in my stomach which has been there a couple of days, my sleep pattern is even more shot to hell than usual (but am blaming it on your dad's desperate snoring! lol). I guess I will remain much like this until the big man makes his home visit/consultation which is due Thurs afternoon and hopefully I can get some answers etc. I was going to say I don't understand why I'm so worked up over the Prof's visit this time, especially he should be pleased with my progress so far, but then if I stop and think......mmmm I am putting myself under pressure and am also getting pressure put on me by one who shall remain nameless but who I can touch with a very short stick! ;)

Just thought it might be worth you mentioning to your GP that I started the menopause very early.....it should be something they bear in mind, although if they are as dismissive over that as they were over the early onset of arthritis I don't know how you can get the message across.

Big hugs, catch you soon xx

p.s. Whilst on this drastic "treatment" routine I am taking multi vitamin (for 50+ lol), omega fish oil supplement and potassium supplement.....could your GP check whether you are deficient in any vitamins as opposed to hormones at all which could be causing the skin problem?

lmc - could you veg for me?

    Thanks for not phoning bookworm.

I think part of the difficulty is that I'm rewriting failed work, so I need to improve what is there. Writing new stuff seems easier somehow.
