Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for 1 may .It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning
Pinch punch and all that.... It's also Obby Oss day in Padstow (or PadStein)
Work today for me and then home for the first evening in for a while.
My Polytunnel was delivered yesterday and so I am waiting for a chance to start erecting that.
Boat all painted and looking good, so I have to put that back together... So much to do, but looking forward to it.
DS is back to college and work, so improving. He is still not 100%, but much better thanks
Ate a kebab and chips last night, so suffering somewhat with that bloated feeling this morning.
Coffee should shift it.... :coffee::coffee: Anyway have a good weekend
Just found this great offer on another thread, Free railcard today only. then half price in the summer. One trip will net you oodles of savings...

            Morning everyone.
Well in case you hadn't guessed by my posting we never made it to our destination last night <rollseyes> Now I know it's BH weekend so I did expect more traffic but not a car park on the M42. It took us half an hour to do one very short junction so we decided to postpone going down til this morning (a screaming child also helped in this decision making too  that was DD by the way). DS then proceeded to throw a strop and refused to get out of the car because plans had changed and he still wanted to go
Anyway after many tears he calmed down and once we're all fed and watered we're going to hit the road again.
Wish me luck for our 2nd attempt :rotfl:
So absolutely no OS from me
Hugs to those that need them.
 N9eav - enjoy your errecting
Jackieg - after reading yesterday's thread you need to contact Trading Standards about the garage. Don't put up with it! Glad your OH made it there finally in one piece.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife Louise Brooks

            Morning peeps
sunny and nice here so i shall put the washing out on the line and keep my fingers crossed i shall check the forecast shortly. i shall check the forecast shortly.
My leg started to ache around the inside of my knee last night, its a bit swollen this morning and hurts quite a bit so not sure whats happened there, i`m sure that i``ve not knocked it so a bit strange really.
The kitchen fella will be here shortly so everything is all over the place again so that he can work without falling over the clutter. DH wanted toast for brekkie this morning *rolls eyes* he thought that i was going to take the dust sheet off the cooker and move it back into place and connect the gas up for him to use the grill, he`s left the house with a couple of quid from the jar in the cupboard that bits and bobs get put into. He can pick something up along the way.:D
Little houndies clocks are wrong, they both seem to think that its time to go out and that is over an hour away. I shall be falling over them until then lol.
Anyway enough of my ramblings, have a sunny Saturday peeps.
Bitsy - Fingers crossed for your trip

            Morning All
Good Luck with your journey this morning Bitsy
Hope your sister in law recovers well Jackie
 (((hugs))) wherever needed.
Very wet outside and we have fine drizzly rain at the moment so today will be an inside day. Housework this morning and ironing this afternoon. So OS today will be using copius amounts of stardrops and vinegar.
Had a result yesterday, OH wanted to pop into town, whilst there I decided to go into Iceland for some icecream, they had a reduced cabinet and we picked up about 10 boxes of prawn skewers (which we love) for 50p per box instead of £2 so thats my bargain of the week.:j
Plugged in the caravan into the electric yesterday and everything works :T was worried about the fridge but thats all ok. Now all we need to do is get OH's towbar sorted and some attachements for the water and water bottles.
Anyway that is more than enough waffling. Have great days.x0

            Morning everyone
Hubs has gone to work this morning, don't know what time til as it depends on how many loads there is to do.
So i'm going to spend the morning putting stuff on ebay and just generally pootling about i think. Have a lady collecting a mirror off me that sold on ebay and someone from freecycle for a cd holder.
Can't do much else today as my hand hurts too much from over doing it this week decorating( i have varicose veins in my hand) and it can get very painful.
Anyway might pop on again later to catch up but if i don't have a good weekend:)0

            Morning all
Hubby's had his cooked breakfast & has been dropped off at school, he'll be there til 2ish.
The sun is shining here, though not sure how long for, but I have 1st load of washing on the line.
My plans are to run round like a blue !!!!!d fly til 1ish, get all the weekend chores done then have a shower & then pick him up from work & we will go to the local builders merchant & order everything for our new shed. We are getting it delivered towards the end of the month & hubby is building it next Bank holiday with the help of my DS & hubby's nephew.
Hubby is working lates next week at the school, 6 til 10, so more money coming in, woo hoo.
 Have a good day everyone.
 Hugs Hester

Good morning, everyone! I'm typing this in the middle of a sneezing session - something has got up my nose and it's irritating. Bleh. The sun is out and it's a little on the cool side which is nice. There's nothing more than a bit of cleaning on the cards for me today - maybe some ironing, perhaps. Again, I'm not sure what's happening with regards to food tonight but if I do end up cooking, I'll do something quick with prawns.
For the first time in ages I'm feeling like having a tin of pop. I developed a bit of a love for cream soda while trying to give up cola and managed to kick the fizzy habit entirely, but for the first time in ages I fancy some fizz. Weird.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a nice day and (((hugs))) to those that need them. Take care,
 Kitchenbunny xx

Morning all. I've woken up to the real world with a bit of a bump this morning. We knew that OHs contract was due to end, but thought that as a GP in the Army he'd be taken back on. Unfortunately this is now NOT going to happen so as of April next year he'll be unemployed. Possibly not for long, but thats not the point.
So massive upheavel coming our way - changes to lifestyle and a house move which at least the children will be happy about - (me too, but don't tell OH)! This weekend I'm not going to do anything other than get my head around it all, now that we know it WILL happen, and then on Monday I think I will restart flylady, Grocery challenge and visit various other threads for inspiration, a kick up the bum and a stern telling off. Until Monday (Yey, Tuesday really!!!) I can relax and enjoy time with the boys (courtesy of having collected vouchers we'll have some fab days out), and perhaps stock up the cupboards!
