My brother is cycling across CANADA!
Options
Hey MSE'ers in less than a month my brother is cycling across Canada to raise money for a prostate centre in Victoria, B.C., Canada. He and is friends are hoping to raise $25000 but still have a long way to go!
Here is their mini-blurb from the website, I'd like to ask if anyone would consider sponsoring the great cause then it would be much appreciated! I've put a link below. Thanks everyone!
'Starting on May 22, 2010, Sam, Fred, Brian and Tevis will set out across Canada, all the way from Victoria, BC, to St. John's, Newfoundland. Their 8000 km trip will consist of a variety of terrains, and involve obstacles such as the Rocky Mountains, swarms of black flies, and devastating winds; all of which make eight hours of biking a day no easy feat. Ninety days later, they will reach their destination on the Atlantic Coast of Canada. Funds raised are supporting The Prostate Centre, providing better means of prostate cancer treatment and prevention.

Sorry, but I've had to report this to the abuse team, if you read this sticky at the top of this board you'll see thatAny links must benefit a UK registered charity. The details of the charity number and link to the website must be given.
I don't doubt that Canada has an excellent regulatory system for charities, btw, or that this is a reputable Canadian charity.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Oops, sorry Savvy! In that case, if anyone wants to donate to the Prostate Cancer Charity in the UK (http://www.prostate-cancer.org.uk/) please do give it a think!
Feel free to remove, sorry again! :S2010 Win(s) - Soft toy Koala, £250 -
Hockey Guy - why don't you get your brother to set up a charity account here in the UK - don't know if he can do that?
I am on my way to the site to see about donating - my dad survived prostate cancer, and I'm grateful to research that made that possible WHEREVER it takes place. My son is in the beginning stages of organising a Terry Fox run at his university next year. PS: Given your username - Go Habs? - well, since the Canucks are out now0
