Who has the best std variable rate year on year?

Which mortgage lender is repeatedly one of the best for std variable rate? I don't like 2 year discount gimmicks or fixed rates, swapping mortgage lender at the end of those 2 years to try and get another good deal is a pain in the backside and can be expensive wiping out any theoretical savings.

So is there a lender who has good std variables rates year on year?

You can get trackers that last for the lifetime or full term of the mortgage. Some call these lifetime trackers. YBS do an offset full term tracker that is BoE + 0.45%, so 5.2% at present.
This costs £195 up front plus £300 on the mortgage after completion.

Most rates on many websites are now out of date. I'm sure how much more of a rise to pass onto to borrowers and how much less to pass onto savers is a board decision with many lenders after such a long period of static base rates.

For £399 and 90% LTV you could get a Nationwide 4.93% BoE lifetime tracker (BoE + 0.18%). The APR works out as 5%. Some commentators say that there are more interest rates rises this year .
Nationwide put up their SVR (AKA. BMR) by 0.35% when the BoE rate hike was 0.25%. BMR now 6.24% !
