We want to replace 10 fence panels, using closeboard fence, gravel boards and 4"x4" posts. We live in Essex.

The quotes we have received range from £800 - 970.

My SIL had a mega amount of panels plus gate erected for only £1000 but that was in Yorkshire, so my question is do the quotes I have got sound fair and reasonable to others?

There is a significant variation in the price and quality of fence panels. That could account for the difference in the prices. Couldn't say whether the quote is reasonable or not without knowing the quality of the panels that you are getting and whether there is decent access or not.
