Scam re bank charges

Just had a call telling me good news, as all my bank charges are going to be refunded. I couldn't quite work out who they said they were, but a 1471 came up with just 0123. I know this is a scam, as I have never had any bank charges - but very worrying for people taken by them. Basically just told the foreign sounding guy sod off and stop wasting my time.

Why didn't you simply ask them to send you the money? That's what I do whenever someone tells me they've got some free money for me; I even invite them to take their fees out of the money and send me the balance.

Strange, but I find it's usually them that puts the phone first using this approach :cool:

Just had the same thing. My wife took the call. 0123 displayed on the phone. My wife asked which bank they were calling from. The Indian accented caller asked which banks she used. This went on several times and then the caller hung up.
