It may not be in your case and we dont know anything about you so cant say. However, its clear from the number of claims companies that have cropped up and the lies they tell and the number of people that agree to use them that consumer greed is a driver for many people.

Its not the case for me, i was paying out more cash in trying to have Lloyds TSB look at my hardship claim seriously, than i was claiming for in charges in total.

I remember 1 phone call cost £8 from a public phone box, i gave up. I did recieve a call from Lloyds TSB but the phone went dead upon answering it, this is not a singular case either as people on here were complaining about the same thing, the ghost call lasted 0.1 seconds, it was a way for Lloyds to have on their records that "They did try to call but the customer was not available" kind of thing, as lots of people here had the same thing done to them it tells me i was not treated fairly, neither was anyone else from Lloyds.

Just so we are clear, I don't agree with you with regards to fines. It is about improvement and if the FSA ask for certain cases to be reviewed based on redress ie compensation then they have the right to award individual complainants their money. It is not for dispersal amongst people who have complained.
Furthermore, the fine would be because they did not follow previous warnings made to them with regards to perhaps a single or multiple issues.

So i guess there is nothing that us as a group on this site can do about it. Thanks NWSM.

Well, the FSA ARE doing something about it. If there was more to do then I am sure it would be done. I think Martin published a news story on the complaint issue so worth re reading it for any advice he has suggested

If they are being fined it should go to us, the "victims", not the FSA fund pot.

    Define 'victims' please.

I have been with the same bank for 22 years. Never been charged once, apart from normal service charges for pre-agreed products/services.

I am pretty sure however that at least a small proportion of the profit my bank has made from me over the years in terms of products, loans, mortgages etc has been used to offset the losses caused by those who have had debts written off due to non payment.

Do I therefore also qualify as a 'victim' in this scheme of yours? If not, why not?

Clearly no. What the bank chooses to do with the profit it makes from you is entirely a matter for them.

I agree. I was merely trying to offer an antidote to yet more of the sabre-rattling ramblings that fill this forum from time to time.

Clearly you were treated fairly and have no issues, which leads me to ask again, if your entirely satisfied with your charges what are you doing responding to my thread here if your not nit-picking, being un supportive or arguementative?

As someone who was not treated with your level of favour, i ask here for advice and help, maybe a new idea to go on, i think your posts belong in the "I am entirely satisfied with my bank" thread if there is one on here.

If anyone else has a idea i hope they get support and advice, than someone like brock trying to shoot people down with his satisfactory bank charge list.
