Ive just had our prepayment meters removed and set up direct debits with Southern Electric.
I can save £350 by changing to a different supplier :j
The site says they do everything for you, will that include cancelling SE and setting up new direct debits?

Post your annual kWh usage and unit prices for the old and new suppliers. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Hi skipsmum - Once you have contacted the new supplier, after a few weeks thay will ask you for your meter readings, advise the date on which they will take over and ask you for bank information to set up new D/debits in thier favour.
This information will be passed on to your old supplier so they can send you a final bill - When that bill it is paid, ( It might be showing a credit ), it is up to you contact your bank to cancel the D/Debits to the old supplier
Now this bit is not in the book
Your switch is not the simple change from one company to another that it appears.
Behind the scenes are a number of hidden Govt. agencies passing your details along the line with your old supplier at the end of the queque
Mistakes can and do happen, and if they do it can be the devils own job sorting things out.
as nobody in the line will put their hand up.
So on the day you give your readings to the new supplier, take out some insurance by writing a joint letter to both the old and new supplier, confirming the meter readings and date of transfer, as with this on file, both the old and new suppliers will have to get involved in sorting things out if it goes wrong0
