Hi,
We have recently booked our honeymoon to Thailand through Trailfinders. Having never booked a big holiday before we did not realise that you should buy travel insurance as soon as you make your booking - we planned to shop around and purchase it before we traveled.
Now the Foreign Office are advising against all travel to Thailand. We are due to leave in 5 weeks. We have contacted Trailfinders and they are only dealing with people who are traveling in the next 4 weeks although they did say we would stand to lose some of the money we paid.
If our honeymoon is canceled because of Foreign Office advice issued would we be covered under Section 75?
I would be grateful for any advice.

Sounds like Trailfinders take FCO advice on a rolling 4 week horizon, if you cancel before this deadline then I would imagine it would be treated purely as a cancellation (loss of deposits etc) and Section 75 would not apply.
You would really need to wait until you were within the '4 week' window and, assuming, the FCO advice hasn't changed you could then probably expect more assistance from Trailfinders.0 -
Thanks I will have a read and contact them again next week, once we're within the 4 week period. Thank you for your help!
Fingers crossed...0
