Technika DVDR 2005 - help setting up

I've bought a Technika DVDR 2005 from Tesco but cant seem to set it up!

I've run scarts from DVDR to Sky+ and TV but then when you switch it on and try to do a scan for channels - it cant find anything.

Also, when I play a DVD on it - the screen is green!

Anyone got any ideas?

Could any help be in idiot format please - not too techie minded!

Thanks

I have selected PAL1 as it told me to in the book.

Have checked and double checked all of the connections.

I shouldn't have any aerial lead going in to it should I - I assume the scart to the Sky+ takes care of that?

Have put an aerial type lead from the DVDR into the sky+ box and have got sky - but still have a green tinge to the screen!

I have one of these. To pickup the Sky from the scart, you will need to select a different source. You can flick through each connection until you find the appropriate "source" (ie; scart socket in this case).

Green screen, dunno. Try a different scart lead/socket?

where this is a popular dvd recorder. Those guys have some helpful tips. Failing that, ask zaccy on this forum - knows a lot about this unit :)

Thanks everyone - green screen was zapped by changing the output to RGB.

Just have to take the blank DVDs back as the guy on the electrical desk told me to get DVD-RW when I need DVD+RW.

Have opened them and thrown my receipt - dont fancy my chances much!
