I am thinking of getting one of these, no older than a seven year old one. Has anyone had one and what are their strengths/weaknesses. Thanks

Gearbox. My dad had two scenic's one new model one old model, both have failed gearbox, my exs dad had a Megane and the gear box used to jump out of frist. They use the same gearbox design just different ratios.

i had a megane r26,i had no problems with mine,awesome performance and handling

Ensure that the timing belt and altenator belt have been changed, possibly want to make sure the water pumps been changed to. Other than that the engines are bullet proof, the gear boxes can be suspect but if you get a good un there shouldnt be a problem.
